Jeremy Pratt started working at Jarvis Christian University as an admissions recruiter in 2012. He was later named as the head coach of the men’s and women’s track and field programs and the men’s and women’s cross country programs in 2014.
Under the direction of Pratt, the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country programs have reached new heights. Pratt has helped track and field athletes capture a total of 12 event conference championships on the men’s and women’s side. In 2021, the women’s track and field team won the Red River Athletic Conference championship and qualified for the NAIA national championship. Pratt has had athletes qualify for the NAIA track and field national championships in five years of his tenure at JCU.
Pratt has also seen success as head coach of men’s and women’s cross country. He has led runners to qualify for the NAIA cross country national championship in three seasons, including back-to-back seasons from 2019-20.
As an athlete, Pratt was a two-time state qualifier in the 400 M and 4x400 M in Mississippi. Pratt ran the 200 M and 400 M as a student-athlete for two and a half years at Mississippi Valley State University.
The Leland, MS native graduated from Mississippi Valley State in 2012 with his bachelor’s of science in health, physical education, and recreation. Pratt is married to Denise Duplechin-Pratt, and they have a daughter, Jailynn Lee.
