
MBB to compete in UTPB Thanksgiving Classic
ODESSA, Texas – The Jarvis Christian men's basketball team will head to West Texas this weekend to take part in the Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux Thanksgiving Classic hosted by the University of Texas Permian Basin.
The Bulldogs will play Chadron State College at 2 p.m. on Friday and then will meet the host team, the UTPB Falcons on Saturday at 4 p.m. Both games will be counted as exhibitions since both schools are NCAA members.
JCU is coming off an exhibition loss to Nicholls State on Tuesday. Jorden Clark led the JCU scoring effort with 13 points as he was 1-1 from the three-point line and 71% shooting from the field. Andrew Holifield posted seven points to go along with three rebounds and a block. Jamari Robertson recorded six points in the effort.
George Nwogu led the Bulldogs' rebounding effort as he pulled in six of the teams 31 total boards. Li'Jon Smith and Jakobe Dill each pulled in four rebounds. Smith scored four points, while Dill had three points.
Chadron State is 1-3 on the season coming off their first win of the season on Tuesday in a 91-72 win over Nebraska-Kearney. Isaiah Wyatt leads the team in scoring as he is averaging 15.8 points per game. Josh Robinson has led the rebounding effort while averaging 8.3 boards per game.
The UTPB Falcons are 2-2 this season coming off a loss to Fort Lewis last Saturday. Azariah Seay has led the Falcons in scoring this season as he is averaging 20.3 points through four games. Nathaniel Powell has led the rebounding effort as he has averaged 6.3 rebounds per game.
