TAMU – Texarkana outlasts JCU to earn 78-69 win

TEXARKANA, Texas – The Jarvis Christian men's basketball team lost its conference opener on the road at Texas A&M – Texarkana on Thursday night.

JCU falls to 2-3 overall on the season and 0-1 to start conference play.

Jakobe Dill led the Bulldogs in scoring as he posted 17 points. He also had a rebound and an assist. Jakari Jackson and James Phillip Russell also joined Dill as they scored in the double figures. Jackson registered 13 points to go along with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Russell scored 10 points and pulled in one board.

Iversyn Smith led the JCU rebounding effort as he totaled eight rebounds with six on the defensive side. He also scored eight points and registered a steal.

Up Next

The Bulldogs head to Paul Quinn on Saturday for the next conference matchup. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
