Volleyball travels to Arkansas to face Champion Christian College

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Jarvis Christian University volleyball team is headed to Arkansas for a matchup with Champion Christian College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs are 2-2 after a trip to Little Rock to open the season. JCU took wins over Philander Smith and Williams Baptist. The Bulldogs dropped matches to Lyon and Southwestern Christian. JCU played close matches throughout the tournament as they played 19 sets over two days.

Jai Johnson leads the team in kills through four games with 45. She has also recorded 24 digs on the season. Asiah West has 41 kills, Aaronyan Wilson has 35, and Kaliyah Timmons has tallied 33 kills. Kaia Brooks leads the team with 59 digs so far. Amariah Kendrick follows with 38 and Chloe Buchanan has recorded 35.

The Bulldogs will return to Arkansas on Saturday for two more matches. JCU will meet Williams Baptist for the second time this season at 10 a.m. before playing Crowley's Ridge at noon. The Bulldogs then return home for their first home match of the season to start Red River Athletic Conference action against Southwest.

"We are excited to get back on the court this evening after a short break," JCU Volleyball Head Coach Jasmine Abbit said. "We are coming off two wins in four games to start the season at the Philander Smith Classic, and we are excited to continue improving as the season continues and we approach conference play."
