
Wilson selected as RRAC Attacker of the Week
WACO, Texas – Aaronyana Wilson earned recognition as the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Attacker of the Week for Sept. 12-18 following her performance over the weekend in back-to-back conference wins against the University of the Southwest.
Wilson averaged 2.9 kills per set as the Bulldogs started conference play 2-0. The sophomore opposite hitter from Shreveport, La., posted double-digit kills with 10 in a 3-0 sweep on Friday and 13 in a 3-2 victory on Saturday. Wilson only committed six errors in 45 total attacks for a .378 hitting percentage. She also had a dig, one solo block, and two block assists in the two wins.
"Aaronyana has been a critical player on the court four us this season," JCU Volleyball Head Coach Jasmine Abbit said. "She meshes well with the rest of the team and she will be an important asset to our team as we move forward this season. I am proud of her performance in the two matches over the weekend and I am glad to see her being recognized by the conference."
