Xavier, OLLU to tussle for supremacy again in RRAC volleyball preseason poll
WACO, Texas – In the race for the 2023 RRAC volleyball crown, it's likely to be a two-horse race for the third straight year. In the conference's preseason polls, Xavier secured a razor-thin edge over Our Lady of the Lake for the top spot. The Gold Nuggets received two more points and a 5-3 lead in first-place votes.
Xavier has won the last two RRAC volleyball tournament titles including last year's epic five-set win. OLLU, which won the regular season title, held two match points before Xavier rallied for the 16-14 win in the fifth.
Entering its second year of competition, Texas A&M-Texarkana was picked third. The Eagles had a quick start last year and placed third in the RRAC regular season standings. Southwest follows TAMUT in fourth place after reaching the RRAC tournament semifinals last year.
Louisiana Christian earned the fifth spot, followed by Jarvis Christian. Paul Quinn, Huston-Tillotson and Texas College rounded out the poll.
Voting was conducted by the conference's head coaches. Results of the poll are shown below with points calculated through a 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 format.
