Softball Voted # 8 In Preseason Poll
WACO, Texas -- After wrapping up last year as the final two teams standing, Our Lady of the Lake and Texas A&M-Texarkana finished 1-2 in the 2023 RRAC Softball Preseason Poll. OLLU edged out the Eagles by two points, despite TAMUT holding a 7-3 edge in first-place votes. Last year's RRAC tournament came down to those teams with the Eagles winning back-to-back games for the RRAC title and a trip to the NAIA national tournament.
Houston-Victoria, which had the third best record in the conference last year, placed third in this year's poll. The Jaguars were eliminated by TAMUT on the road to the 2022 championship games.
UHV is followed by Louisiana Christian, Texas A&M-San Antonio and LSU Alexandria, which collected a first-place vote.
The RRAC will be split into East and West divisions again this season. Jarvis Christian, LCU, LSUA, TAMUT, Texas College and Xavier will play in the East. UHV, Huston-Tillotson, OLLU, Southwest and TAMUSA will compete in the West.
