Thomas Set To Compete For A National Championship
Jarvis Christian's Samyra Thomas has qualified for the National Championship Tournament in the 191 pound weight class. This years national championship will be in Jamestown, ND. Thomas has finished the regular season as the Sooner Conference Champion with a record of 10-0 and a final season rank nationally at #6 in the country. The Jarvis Christian Women's Wrestling program is the first HBCU to compete in the sport of wrestling and Samyra Thomas is the first female to qualify for a 2nd year in a row for the national championship from an HBCU program.
