Women’s basketball announces 2022-23 schedule
HAWKINS, Texas – Jarvis Christian women's basketball coach Sanetra Jackson announced the 2022-23 women's basketball schedule Tuesday, which includes 12 games that will be played at the E.W. Rand Center on campus.
The Bulldogs will open the season October 29 at home for a 2 p.m. tipoff with Wiley College. Following the home opener, JCU will travel to San Antonio to play in the Halo Tournament hosted by Our Lady of the Lake University. The Bulldogs come back home for a November 8 matchup with Dallas Christian College.
JCU hits the road for the rest of November through the start of December for six straight road games. The Bulldogs will play three exhibition games with NCAA Division I teams during that span including Lamar, Sam Houston State, and Prairie View A&M.
Red River Athletic Conference play starts up on December 1 as the Bulldogs travel to Texas A&M-Texarkana. Conference action continues through February as JCU wraps up the regular season at LSU-Shreveport on February 18. The RRAC Tournament will take place from February 24-26 in Alexandria, Louisiana.
"I am excited to get to work with the team to get the season started," Jackson said. "We have a lot of transfers coming in this year, so the team will have a completely new identity. I think we will have some players really step up to the challenge and perform for us this season. We are ready to get the season started at home against Wiley, and I think we will surprise some people this year."
