
JCU athletics to offer student worker positions
HAWKINS, Texas – The Jarvis Christian University Athletics Department is excited to announce the openings of student worker positions for JCU students interested in working in college athletics that will cover the academic year of 2022-2023.
JCU is a member of the Red River Athletic Conference and competes in various men's and women's sports. The student worker positions will expose students to real-world experience working in the field of college athletics.
Positions are currently available working in athletic communications or athletic training. Information for each position is listed below. If you are interested in athletic communications, please contact the sports information director, Garret Sulak at gsulak@jarvis.edu. If you are interested in athletic training, please contact the athletic trainer, Yasmeen Cook at ycook1@jarvis.edu.
Positions are available for JCU students and student-athletes that are eligible for work study positions.
Athletic Communications
- Assist with gameday events
- Develop skills in photography, graphic design, and video editing
- Assist with social media planning and execution
- Produce game preview and recap stories that are published online and sent to local media outlets
- Learn stats for various sports
- Learn day-to-day operations of an NAIA athletic department

Athletic Training
- Assist in covering various home games and practices
- Learn skills required to be an athletic trainer
- Work with athletes and coaches to prevent and heal injuries
- Learn day-to-day operations of an NAIA athletic department
