
4 JCU Softball Players Receive All Conference Honors
Four members of the Jarvis Christian University Softball program were honored with RRAC All-Conference selections.
Maya Shelby, a junior pitcher from Sabinal, TX, was selection to the RRAC All-Conference 1st team. On the year, Shelby pitched in a total of 31 games with 30 as a starting pitcher. She finished her 2023 campaign with a 15-13 record and a total of 198 K's.
Alexis Uresti, a junior short stop/2nd baseman from Houston, TX, was also selected to the RRAC All-Conference 1st team. Uresti had a batting average of .478, which was the 7th best batting average in the nation. She also had a total of 73 stolen bases and she led the nation in stolen bases.
Jaelyn Nuncio, a sophomore outfielder from Houston, TX, was selected to the RRAC All-Conference 2nd team. Nuncio had a batting average of .384, hitting a homerun on the year and 14 RBIs.
Itzel Soto, a junior utility player from Long Beach, CA, was also named to the RRAC All-Conference 2nd team. Soto had a batting average of .444 along with 34 RBIs.
