M Soccer plays to draw with Paul Quinn

DALLAS, Texas – Johan Arevalo and Kevin Ochoa combined to score three goals as the Jarvis Christian men's soccer team played to a 3-3 draw with Paul Quinn on Thursday afternoon.

JCU moves to 3-1-2 on the season as Paul Quinn moves to 5-1-1 overall.

The Bulldogs struck quick to take a 2-0 advantage in the first seven minutes. Arevalo scored in the 5th minute and Ochoa followed with another goal in the 7th minute on an assist by Arevalo.

The Tigers were able to cut into the lead as Jarrett Williams booted in a goal in the 30th minute. Jonathan Mendez was credited with the assist.

JCU would push the lead back to two right before the half as Arevalo scored his second goal of the day to give the Bulldogs a 3-1 lead.

Later in the second half, Jose Vazquez scored on an assist from Williams in the 75th minute to pull the Tigers within one. Minutes later in the 78th minute, Jonathan Hernandez found the goal as the Tigers tied the match, 3-3. Williams was again charged with the assist.

Avramov Vladimir and Jahir Arevalo split duties at the goalkeeper position. Arevalo played the first half and allowed one goal while picking up five saves. Vladimir came in for the second half and allowed two goals while recording two saves.
