HAWKINS, Texas – The Southwest Mustangs scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to pull away and take the 5-3 win over Jarvis Christian on Saturday afternoon at Wendon L. Blair Soccer Field.
The Bulldogs drop to 3-2-2 on the season and 0-1-1 in Red River Athletic Conference action.
Kevin Ochoa and Kyang Dieu Merci booted in goals for the Bulldogs to along with a Southwest own goal in Saturday's loss.
The game was tied with just over 10 minutes to play before Roberto Canales scored just before the 80th minute to give the Mustangs the lead for good. Gerardo Tenorio tacked on another goal in the 89th minute as Southwest earned the win.
JCU outshot Southwest, 18-9, but that was not enough for the Bulldogs as five different Mustangs scored goals in the contest.
