Men’s Soccer falls to UHV

HAWKINS, Texas – Johan Arevalo extended his scoring streak to three games as he booted in the only goal of the afternoon for the Bulldogs in a 4-1 loss to Houston-Victoria on Saturday afternoon at the Wendon L. Blair Soccer Field.

The Bulldogs move to 4-4-2 overall this season with a 1-3-1 record in conference action. The Jaguars improve to 6-2-3 and remain unblemished in conference play with a 3-0-2 mark.

UHV took the lead early as Luke Mills found the goal in the 15th minute. That would be the only goal scored in the first half.

Shortly after halftime, Arevalo scored in the 53rd minute to tie the match, 1-1.

UHV's Callum Smith would answer in the 56th minute as he scored on an assist by Danny Nunez. Mills followed with another goal in the 58th minute and Nunez scored a goal of his own in the 81st minute as the Jaguars sealed the 4-1 win.

Arevalo has now scored eight goals this season, which is tied for first in the Red River Athletic Conference. He has also accumulated 18 points, which is good for second place in the conference.
