
Men’s Soccer blanks Texas College, 2-0
TYLER, Texas – Arturo Gonzalez and Johan Arevalo scored the Bulldogs' two goals Saturday as the Jarvis Christian men's soccer team earned its first conference win of the season in a 2-0 win over Texas College.
JCU moves to 4-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in Red River Athletic Conference action. Saturday's win marks the first win over Texas College in program history.
Both of JCU's goals came in the second half as Gonzalez scored on an assist by Orlando Rodriguez. Arevalo then scored to give the Bulldogs the 2-0 advantage. Kyang Dieu Merci was credited with the assist.
Arevalo notched his fifth goal of the season Saturday, which puts him tied for second in the RRAC in goals scored this season. He is also the team leader in goals for JCU.
