
MS drops season finale to LSUA
HAWKINS, Texas – The Jarvis Christian men's soccer team was shutout by LSU-Alexandria, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in the season finale at the Wendon L. Blair Soccer Field.
The Bulldogs wrapped up the season with a 4-8-4 overall record and 1-7-3 conference mark.
Johan Arevalo was a top performer for the team as he led the led the team and conference in goals with 13 scored through 14 starts. Arevalo also was credited with four assists as he accumulated 30 points.
Kevin Ochoa was another leading scorer for the Bulldogs as he found the goal five times this season. Kyang Dieu Merci and Arturo Gonzalez each posted two goals for the season.
Julian Gomez, Juan Iracheta, Yuneum Rios, Juan Rodriguez, Benito Leon, Gerardo Martinez, Sergio Escareno, Alex Alatorre, and Ignacio Gutierrez all scored one goal this season. Orlando Rodriguez led the team in assists for the season as he totaled five.
As a unit, the Bulldogs scored 32 goals this season. That is a program record that overtakes the previous high of 29 total goals scored during the 2019 season. JCU totaled 27 goals during the 2021 season.
Avramov Vladimir and Jahir Arevalo covered the goalie position throughout the season. Vladimir picked up 46 saves while allowing 35 goals through 14 starts. Jahir earned two starts and allowed five goals. He notched 13 saves through two starts and three appearances.
